Building Academic Reading Skills

Reading academic English requires more than a large vocabulary and advanced grammatical structures. Building Academic Reading Skills gives college and university students the specific reading skills and practice they need to handle academic and non-fiction reading.

Each level is organised by high-interest topics and features multiple readings from different academic fields. Pre-reading, during-reading, and post-reading exercises not only help students understand the text they are working on but become better readers overall.
