Express Publishing was founded by an educator and started with just one grammar textbook. Functional Grammar was made with teachers in mind, giving them a resource that was both reliable and relevant to their needs.
Drawing on real classroom experience, Virginia Evans brought new approaches to English Language Teaching with materials that stood out. From Enterprise to English for Specific Purposes and our software solutions, she inspired a new generation of educators who found purpose in teaching through content that built strong communication, essential life skills, and solid language abilities.

Timeline
Our Milestones
1988: We create and print our first book, Functional Grammar.
1996: Our first coursebook, Mission, is published. At the same time, we make our first international move by exporting materials to Poland.
2007: We develop our first Interactive Whiteboard software for Upstream.
2008: The Bulgarian Ministry of Education approves our resources, marking our first official ministerial approval.
2011:We release our first ieBook, opening up a new chapter in interactive language learning.
2015: We launch Express DigiBooks, our LMS platform designed for homework integration.
2017: The DigiBooks app gets an update, introducing a more gamified and interactive experience.
2023: Express DigiPlus, our AI-powered, adaptive learning platform, introduces a hyper-personalised learning experience, tailored to the needs of each student.
